Anna
Anna was a name used by an Imperial Callidus Assassin most notable for having killed Lord Solar Macharius.[2a]
Originally in the employ of the Inquisitor Hyronimus Drake, the Assassin first appeared in the Macharian Crusade as a hospital nurse at Karsk IV. She soon became romantically involved with Sergeant Leo Lemuel, who went on to be assigned to Macharius' personal guard.[1]
Years later "Anna" next appeared to a wounded and hallucinating Lemuel in a Sisters Hospitaller hospital Emperor's Glory, though the Seregant doubted if he had really seen her.[2a] After the conclusion of the campaign on Loki, the Assassin took the form of a Inquisitorial Stormtrooper and assassinated the sickly and dying Macharius. To cover their tracks, they then killed Drake, leaving their true employer unknown. Afterwards the Callidus Assassin reappeared to Lemuel, informing him of what she had done and stating it was a mercy to Macharius in order to preserve his legacy and heroism. She let Lemuel live so that he could tell the "official" story of Macharius' passing.[2b]
