Artarion

Artarion was a Space Marine of the Black Templars Chapter.[1a]
Biography
At one time, Artarion served the Chapter as a Thunderhawk pilot. He is known to have been part of the Vinculus Crusade, taking part in the Battle of Fire and Blood. At the end of the battle, while the fortress of Apex was collapsing around the last of the surviving Black Templars, Artarion was the last pilot to leave, allowing High Marshal Ludoldus, Reclusiarch Mordred and Sword Brother Grimaldus to evacuate.[2]
Some time later, Artarion would go on to serve Grimaldus directly as the banner bearer of his command squad, Squad Grimaldus.[1a] He met his end during the Helsreach Crusade, falling against a horde of orks while defending the Temple of the Emperor Ascendant.[1b]
