Banshee
From Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum
Banshees are creatures in Eldar mythology.[1]
According to Eldar mythology, banshees are the harbingers of woe and death whose cry, it is said, heralds ill fate, calling forth dead spirits from the Warp and forewarning certain death.[2] Legend says that the creation of the Banshees came when the Crone Goddess Morai-Heg had daughters with the god of murder, Kaela Mensha Khaine. Banshees were sad to be both mad and cunning, and this is reflected in the modern Howling Banshee Aspect Warrior shrine of the Craftworld Eldar.[1][2][4]
Conflicting Sources
Other sources state that the father of Morai-Heg's daughters, the Banshees, is referred to as the Kaelis Vara’lanthian, or 'death god yet to be'. This is an apparent reference to Ynnead.[3]
