Battle for Trygg
The Battle for Trygg was a battle fought by the Ultramarines during the Fourth Tyrannic War.[1]
Overview
The battle saw the Ultramarines 2nd Company journey to the Hive World of Trygg to investigate the disappearance of Departmento Munitorum Adepts, Mordian Iron Guard and an Imperial Navy Frigate there. A desperate Astropathic scream had escaped the Frigate before its disappearance, raising enough suspicion to allow for Ultramarines Captain Acheran to organise a strikeforce. He was accompanied by Brother Chairon, a former squadmate of Demetrian Titus who was now a Lieutenant of the 2nd Company.[1]
Upon arriving at Trygg, the Ultramarines soon discovered that the world was home to a Genestealer Cult infestation. Thousands of Genestealer Hybrids and other cultists loyal to them swarmed the Ultramarines as they arrived, and Acheran sealed Trygg's capital by triggering its anti-atomic lockdown protocols. Fighting back endless hordes of xenocultists, Acheran, Chairon, and all Brothers of the Ultramarines strikeforce were eventually overwhelmed and slain. Yet their sacrifice succeeded in buying time for Trygg's survival, keeping the hive sealed and the cult bottled up until Imperial reinforcements arrived and purged them.[1]
