Battle of Garrovire
The Battle of Garrovire was a battle of the Indomitus Crusade.[1a]
The battle initially saw heavy fighting between the Imperial Guard and Chaos forces over Garrovire, a world of the Anaxian Line.[1a]
Later, the Ultramarines Sixth Company arrive to investigate strange psychic obfuscation within the ruins of a purged city on Garrovire. The Ultramarines were under the command of Captain Maximus Epathus, Librarian Maendaius, and Lieutenant Veros and Ferren Areios.[1b] On Garrovire, they discovered a Chaos-tainted statue.[1b] Deciding to destroy the statue, the Ultramarines were attacked by Chaos Cultists and a Possessed member of their squad, leaving Vero and Epathus dead, and Meandaius suspected of corruption. In the aftermath of the battle Aerios assumed de-facto command of the 6th Company.[1c]
