Maximus Epathus was a Captain of the Ultramarines Chapter's 6th Company and Master of the Rites prior to his death.[1][4b]

Biography
During the Siege of the Fenris System Epathus led the 6th Company as part of a crusade led by Asmodai and the Dark Angels. After arriving to Fenris, Epathus and Terrek of the Iron Hands set out for Frostheim, and en route attended a briefing led by Elezar of the Dark Angels.[2]
During the Bloodborn's Invasion of Ultramar Epathus led the 6th Company on the planet Quintarn in its defence alongside the 5th Company, Chronus, Cassius, Telion and some of his scouts.[5]
Sometime after the Great Rift's creation, Epathus underwent the operation needed to be converted into a Primaris Space Marine. The Captain understood well the value of displaying unquestionable martial might and went to battle in the masterwork Armour Gloriastus.[1] He has led an Ultramarines strike force during the Charadon Campaign.[3]
During the Battle of Garrovire, Epathus was killed by a possessed member of the 6th Company. In his role as sixth Captain, Maximus Epathus was succeeded by Ferren Areios.[4b]
Wargear
Epathus wore the Armour Gloriastus, a masterwork suit of Mark X Gravis armour.[1]
His main weapons were a pair of boltstorm gauntlets[1] and an exquisite Thunder Hammer crafted by the master artificers of Iax.[4a]
