The Battle of Glazer's River,[1] also known as Last Stand at Glazer's Creek,[2] was a historical victory of the XXIV Praetorian Guard regiment, commanded by Captain Caine, against a large Ork Waaagh! led by Warboss Grishnak.[1]
History
On the Ork invaded Montar VII,[2] the 3rd Platoon of the XXIV Praetorian Regiment's A-Company spent a night in the farm of Conrad Glazer, near Glazer's River. The 3rd platoon, without its Chimeras and with many wounded was forced to defend itself from a seemingly unending horde of Orks. A handful of civilians who worked for Glazer also took up arms to aid in the defence of the farm. The civilians involved were "Farmer Glazer", a Bounty Hunter named "Blikk" and a Ratling sniper called "Hooky", who was the unexpected hero of the battle, shooting from his raised spot atop a tower, and felling a surprising amount of Greenskins.[1]
Twenty years later a second battle would be fought at the same location.[2]
