The 2010 compendium was full update and expansion to the Battlefleet Gothic universe, complete with updated rules, fluff, FAQ and even some new ships.^[1]

It was written by a rules committee, nicknamed the High Admiralty; a Games Workshop-sanctioned board of fans and employees who have been charged with playtesting all future development of the game^[3], posted on either www.battlefleetgothic.com or www.specialist-games.com (both sites now nonfunctional). Notable members include Bob Henderson, Ray Bell, Nate Montez, Roy Amkreutz as well as collaboration with Andy Hall and Matt Keefe and Pete Haines. Although the department of GW Specialist Games no longer actively works on Battlefleet Gothic, the members of the rules committee continue to provide advice and rules interpretation to the BFG gaming community as of 2025.^{[2][See Additional Sources]}

The 2010 Compendium would eventually be followed by Battlefleet Gothic Remastered in 2020.^[4]
