Battlefleet Scarus
Battlefleet Scarus is the Imperial Navy's Battlefleet for the Scarus Sector.[2b]
Overview
Battlefleet Scarus, along with those of Agripinaa, Cadia and Corona, are known as the Bastion Fleets for their role in guarding the Eye of Terror. For this reason, Battlefleet Scarus is among the best equipped and largest battlefleets of the entire Imperium.[2b]
In 240.M41, while preparing for the start of the Ophidian Crusade, Captain Estrum managed to commandeer a section of the fleet and place it into the service of the Glaw family. These rebel ships were largely defeated by the rest of the Battlefleet in orbit of the Saruthi world known as 56-Izar.[3]
After the rebels were pacified, preparations for the Ophidian Crusade resumed, which then lasted for 98 years until 338.M41 when Battlefleet Scarus returned home victorious.[3]
Composition
At the time of the Thirteenth Black Crusade Battlefleet Scarus consisted of the following ships[1]:
- 5 Battleships
- 9 Cruiser squadrons
- 13 Escort squadrons
