History
Bladen was one of the Imperial worlds fought over in the Gothic War.[2]
During the early stages of the Gothic War, in the year 143.M41, an Imperial Navy fleet was devastated by a surprise attack above the Hive World by Abaddon's forces. As the Chaos fleet claimed the skies, they also launched a ground assault at Massena Hive, the primary site of the Ecclesiarchy on the world. After heavy fighting, the largest cathedral on the planet, The Mission of the Emperor Triumphant, was overrun and defiled by the Traitor forces. Thousands of civilians were killed in the rituals and the hive was left a pit of madness and corruption even after the departure of Abaddon's troops.[2]
In 159.M41 Lord Admiral Ravensburg and Inquisitor Lord Proccuppio Vex ordered the hive city Massena to be destroyed and it was subjected to exterminatus.[2]
