Brevian Centennials
The Brevian Centennials were an Imperial Guard Regiment that took part in the Sabbat Worlds Crusade.[1a]
Notable Actions
The regiment is known to have supported the Tanith First and Only and the Eighth Pardus Armoured in retaking the Holy Doctrinopolis from the Infardi during the liberation of Hagia.[1a][1b] At the time, their commanding officer was Colonel Farris.[1a]
After Lord General Lugo grew impatient with the progress made in taking the city, he ordered Colonel-Commissar Gaunt of the Tanith First to forego his planned infantry-based assault in favour of an armoured attack spearheaded by the Pardus.[1b] Following the attack, a brigade of the Brevian Centennials led by Major Szabo was sent to secure the Citadel overlooking the city.[1c] However, the leader of the Chaos forces on Hagia, Pater Sin, had created a ritual booby trap within the Citadel that the Brevians triggered as they entered. The trap annihilated the Citadel, killing all of the Brevians committed to the action.[1c][1d]
Only two brigades of Brevians survived the Hagia campaign, having been assigned to rearguard duty when the trap went off. Worse still, the energy released by the ritual acted as an astropathic beacon which drew a Chaos fleet to Hagia. Faced with impending Chaos reinforcements, Lord General Lugo was forced to order Imperial forces to abandon the planet.[1d]
Organisation
The Brevian Centennials are split up into brigades. Prior to the assault on the Citadel, the regiment is known to have contained three such brigades.[1c][1d]
Customs
After losses, the Brevians are known to hold periods of ritual mourning, during which they fast.[1d]
