The Burst Cannon is simply a multi-barreled version of the Tau Pulse Carbine.
Overview
The Burst Cannon is significantly larger than the Pulse Carbine but unable to mount a Photon Grenade launcher.[1] Able to sustain a high rate-of-fire, it is primarily mounted on Battlesuits and other Tau Vehicles.[2] Burst cannons are powerful enough to reduce an unarmoured human to a ragged corpse and throw it back a dozen meters, although Space Marines in Power Armour are better able to withstand this level of firepower.[3]

- Long Barrel Burst Cannon - Mounted on aircraft.[2]
- High Output Burst Cannon[4]
- DW-02 Advanced Burst Cannon - Prototype version augmented with additional power accelerators and recoil-absorption modules, enabling it to unleash more firepower.[5]
