Known Actions
- 999.M41: The regiment fought in the defence of Cadia itself during the 13th Black Crusade. Colonel Polski commanded the 24th Armoured in battles around Kasr Gehr, supported by Colonel Lansted and the Cadian 180th Infantry.[1]
Organisation
By the time of the fall of Kasr Gehr,[2a] the Cadian 24th Armoured was made up of five companies in total: a Command Company, three standard Armoured Companies (designated The Fighting First, The Steel Avengers and The Bunker Busters) and one Heavy Company. The regiment also deployed with two attached support squadrons; one recon squadron (the Seek and Sneak) and one anti-aircraft squadron (the Cloud Shredders).[1] At the battles beginning, the 24th boasted nine Leman Russ companies, its significant losses being testament to the hard fighting around the Kasr and the lack of available reinforcements.[2a]
- The Command Company included both a Leman Russ Battle Tank and a Chimera at the disposal of its Colonel.[1]
- Each Armoured Company was made up of 10 tanks (standard Leman Russ Battle Tanks for the first two, Leman Russ Demolishers for the 3rd Company).[1]
- The 1st Heavy Company consisted solely of one Super Heavy Tank, the Baneblade Steel Faith.[1]
- The Recon Squadron contained 3 Sentinels and the Anti-Air Support made up of 3 Hydra Flak Tanks.[1]
- The 4th Company was organised as a Emperor's Fist Tank Company, consisting of two Leman Russ Battle Tank squadrons, Squadron Battalica and Squadron Devastatum, and a Leman Russ Demolisher squadron, Squadron Annihilatum, and led by a Leman Russ as command tank.[2b]
