Clan Habeyl
Clan Habeyl was once the ruling Imperial House of the Hive World Garmesh.[1]
History
They had ruled there for many generations, but the string of Habeyl rulers proved to be incompetent and aided in Garmesh's decline. This caused the Hive World to lose its position as the beating heart of the Mathenda Sub-sector and resulted in Garmesh's population languishing in poverty, while its indolent Imperial Commanders hid in their Spire Fortresses and ignored their plight. The latest head of the Clan, Habeyl VII was no different, but in M42 the resentment towards him, led nine Unsanctioned Psykers of Garmesh' population to form a cabal, within its Underhive. They had done so after listening to a voice in visions they received as they were dreaming, which the cabal believed was the Emperor. This voice bade them to pool their powers together to save Garmesh and the cabal called itself the Heralds of Change, and set about mounting a sorcerous insurrection upon the Hive World.[1]
Habeyl VII would not take their threat seriously until it was too late and the Heralds began to threaten his rule of Garmesh. He would send out astropathic pleas for aid and to be evacuated, before then joining his fellow Nobles in hiding within their Hive Spire fortresses. There, they would wait in safety as the Noble's household guards held back the cabal's onslaught, until help could arrive to defeat the cabal. Once the Heralds learned of this, they became desperate and with victory so close at hand, the cabal beseeched the God-Emperor to aid them. However it was not the Emperor, but the Lord of Change Tz'Keth'K'Zar who answered their plea. It was the Greater Daemon who had been speaking to them in their visions and was all to pleased to aid them. Once the Lord of Change materialized upon Garmesh, the Heralds were turned into a Warp Gate, through which the legions of Tzeentch invaded the Hive World. It would then be enveloped by the Chaos God's power, though sometime later the Imperial Navy Frigate Hopeful Saint arrived to evacuate Habeyl. Its crew was stunned by the Hive World's fate and the warship's Shipmistress Endara, was also unable to make contact with the Imperial Commander. Before she could decide on what to do next, Tzeentch Daemons invaded the Hopeful Saint and set its bridge aflame with Warpfire.[1]
