The Festerlung Brotherhood are a Death Guard Warband.[1]
History
At some point prior to the Ghloxas Heresy, the Festerlung Brotherhood fought against the daemon Prr'xakkatos.[1][Note 1]
Under the command of the Chaos Lord Ghloxas, the warband attacked the Imperial Jhorvian System in an event known as the Ghloxas Heresy. During an attack on Agri World Jhorvia V, the Brotherhood was opposed by Radical Inquisitor Vincenze Farradocias Kazymar, who released the daemon Prr'xakkatos upon them, bound into a daemonhost. This resulted in a three-way battle between the Death Guard, the Imperial defenders, and Tzeentchian daemons presumably summoned by Prr'xakkatos. Prr'xakkatos was able to kill Lord Ghloxas and wipe out Death Guard and Imperials alike, resulting in Inquisitor Kazymar being declared a heretic. The departure of Kazymar led to Jhovia V being overrun by competing forces of Nurgle and Tzeentch.[1]

- Note 1: This is assumed to be an event that occurred earlier due to the phrase "sub-ref: Bokha's Sound Massacres, prior conflict between Lord Ghloxas and daemonic incursion forces led by Prr'xakkatos" found in Source 1.[1] However, the Bokha's Sound Massacres may have occurred during the Ghloxas Heresy.
