The Ghloxas Heresy was a battle that took place in the Jhorvian System between the Death Guard, the Imperium, and Tzeentchian daemons.[1]

History

The namesake of the Heresy was Lord Ghloxas, leader of a Death Guard vectorium known as the Festerlung Brotherhood.[1]

During the Heresy, the radical Inquisitor Vincenze Farradocias Kazymar of the Ordo Malleus fought against the Festerlung Brotherhood. To defeat the Death Guard, Kazymar worked with the Chaos Cult of the Blessed Daemon to bind the daemon Prr'xakkatos into a daemonhost. Utilising Prr'xakkatos's feud with Ghloxas, Kazymar's plan proved effective and resulted in the death of many Death Guard, including Lord Ghloxas. However, Prr'xakkatos soon turned against the Imperial defenders, leaving heavy casualties. Inquisitor Kazymar soon decided to return to his cruiser, the Blade Inevitable, and prepared to bombard the battlefield from orbit to simultaneously remove the threat of Prr'xakkatos and destroy the evidence of his own crimes.[1]

However, the Blade Inevitable's attack run was ended when it was attacked by the Imperial Navy battleship Hammerblow, under the command of Ordo Malleus Inquisitor Danicha Hest. Kazymar barely escaped, with his cruiser suffering heavy damage. Hest subsequently denounced Kazymar as a heretic for his cooperation with a Chaos cult to summon a daemon, and decided to hunt him down.[1]

Meanwhile, Jhorvia V was still overrun by rival Death Guard and Tzeentchian forces, and the situation was declared severitas maximal by the Imperium.[1]
