The Forgeborn are a Black Legion Warband, that is led by the Warpsmith D'vok.[1]

History
It was originally part of a larger Iron Warriors Warband, until D'vok's ambitious scheming kicked off a civil war, that tore the Warband apart. Abandoning their former comrades afterwards, the Warpsmith and his most elite followers, stole away with several packs of Daemon Engines to join the Black Legion. Sometime after the Legion's Warmaster, Abaddon, retreated from Vigilus, D'vok used to an ancient star chart to locate and invaded the Exodite World Daethe. Under his command, the Forgeborn then constructed a ring of Noctilith Crowns in order to harness Daethe's World Spirit energy. Once they have succeeded, D'vok plans to weaponize the Exodite's souls to supercharge his vile machines. In doing so, the Warpsmith hopes to curry favour with the Black Legion's Warmaster. However the Craftworld Saim-Hann heard Daethe's plea for aid and the Autarch Ghaelyn has now led her forces there to stop the Forgeborn.[1]
