Forkas-63 is an Adeptus Mechanicus mining world located in the Andosk Sub-Sector. It was artificially created by colliding two mineral-rich planets into one mass.[1]

History

Forkas-63 was conceived by Tech-Priest Explorator Stultus Phi-12, who identified two close-orbiting worlds rich in minerals. Over a century of manipulation, their orbits were redirected until they collided. The lighter surface matter was vaporised into rings, while the denser cores fused into a new planetary body ideal for mining. This became Forkas-63.[1]

Unknown to his superiors, one of the destroyed planets had been a Necron Tomb World. Stultus intended to study the xenos ruins, but perished in the collision event. The truth of the planet’s origins was buried as mining proved too valuable to halt.[1]

Vast Mechanicus engines strip Forkas-63’s crust for rare alloys, feeding forge worlds across the Macharian Sector. Xenos relics uncovered during excavations are quietly suppressed, with workers ordered to continue extraction regardless of anomalies. By the time suspicions grew of Necron involvement, the world’s output was deemed indispensable.[1]

The awakening of the Necron tomb beneath Forkas-63 presents a grave danger. Skitarii patrols have been harried by unseen foes, and mysterious artefacts vanish as quickly as they are unearthed. Ordin-XVII fears that a full reawakening is imminent but knows speaking out without overwhelming proof will lead to his silencing by the Mechanicus.[1]

Notable Figures

  • Magos Biologis Ordin-XVII – Assigned to Forkas-63 fifty years ago, Ordin was tasked with repairing Skitarii augmetics. Disturbed by repeated memory wipes ordered after encounters with unusual artefacts, he secretly preserved fragments. His records suggest the recovery of intact Necron ruins, strange artefacts, and abominable constructs stirring beneath the crust.[1]
