Games Day was a yearly gaming convention held by Games Workshop that ran from 1975[1] to 2013.[2] Games Day would host gaming tables, the Golden Demon Competition[5], and often included Games Workshop and Black Library employees hosting Q&A events, answering questions about the lore and direction of the Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 universes.[6] In 2014 Games Day was succeeded by Warhammer Fest.[47]

History

The first Games Day was held on the 20th December 1975, and was held at Seymour Hall in London.[1] Since 1987 Games Day included the Golden Demon Competition.[2] Games Days were also held in the United States,[3] Germany,[21], France,[29] Canada,[4] and Australia.[5] From 2005 until 2014 the UK Games Day was held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.[6]

Games Days in Canada and the United States were originally Games Day North America, before each nation had their own seperate Games Days. This table includes Games Day North America and the various Games Days then held in the United States. At an unknown point in time prior to 2008, Games Day United States became three seperate events; Games Day Chicago, Games Day Baltimore, and Games Day Los Angeles.[25]
