Garvetha Primus and its System were once ruled by the Imperium, until they were claimed by Heretics in M42.[1]
History
It was later invaded by Task Force IX, of Indomitus Crusade Fleet Quartus's Battle Group Jovia, who sought reclaim the world and its System for the Imperium. The Task Force was largely successful in its efforts and needed only to conquer the city of Deng-Var, to take back Garvetha Primus. Doing so, would then allow the world's System to be opened up for further invasions by the Task Force. However it was as they were fighting to take the city, that the Daemon Primarch Angron destroyed the Choral Engine, which the majority of Fleet Quartus' forces had been defending, on the Imperium Nihilus world, Malakbael. The psychic beacon's subsequent explosion, then unleashed Khorne's Murder-Curse Warp plague, upon Fleet Quartus. And due to its Battle Groups sharing sharing psychic channels with each other, the Murder-Curse spread to all of them, no matter where they were located in the Galaxy.[1]
Because of this, the Warp plague soon reached Task Force IX and turned those infected into servants of Khorne. They are now filled with murderous bloodlust and rage, which has caused them to fall upon anyone that is near them. Those Imperials not infected by the Murder-Curse, are now struggling to survive the wrathful attacks of their former allies.[1]
