Gheidon
Gheidon is a Black Templars Marshal, who commands the Heimdel Crusade. It currently serves within Indomitus Crusade Fleet Secundus' Battle Group Erastus.[1]
History
When the muster for the Indomitus Crusade began, the Heimdel Crusade was among the Imperial forces that became part of Fleet Secundus. Gheidon was only too pleased to do so, as the Indomitus Crusade had been created on the orders of Lord Commander Guilliman. In his eyes, the reborn Primarch was a divine embodiment of the God-Emperor's will, that was sent to lead the Imperium through its greatest time of trial. For its part, Fleet Secundus welcomed Heimdel's large force and the Black Templars' open faith in the Emperor, were enthusiastically received by the Fleet's zealous masses. At least one Heimdel squad was requested to join every single Secundus Battle Group, as their mere presence was seen as a blessing from the Emperor. Gheidon himself, assigned a full squad of his Sword Brethren to act as an Honour Guard to Secundus' Fleetmaster, Rasmatin Olythaddeus Samil. The majority of the Marshal's Crusade, however, would serve together in Battle Group Erastus.[1]
As Indomitus Crusade Fleet Secundus launched, its mission was to strike at the Eye of Terror itself. The Indomitus Crusade's high command, thought that such a brazen challenge could not be ignored by the forces of Chaos. It was hoped, that Fleet Secundus would draw them away from other, more strategically crucial war zones. This would also allow Indomitus Crusade Fleet Primus, Tertius, Quartus, Quintus and Sextus, the opportunity to reclaim the Imperium Sanctus. Though it could end in the entire Heimdel Crusade and Fleet being destroyed, Gheidon had gladly accepted Secundus' mission. To him, its cause seemed the most virtuous and righteous of all the Fleets within the Indomitus Crusade.[1]
