Guardian-Scribes
"I have seen within the Black Library and spoken to its most terrible guardian."'
The Guardian-Scribes,[1] or simply "Black Library Guardians"[2] are the Eldar who guard the Black Library of Chaos alongside the Harlequins.[4]
Overview
It is impossible to reach the Black Library itself without encountering the Guardians, and few have ever passed them.[2] The Guardians are described as the most terrible of all perils in the Webway, and they are dreaded individuals even among their Eldar kindred.[3]
The Guardian-Scribes maintain a hawk-like watch over their books and, since the Fall of the Eldar, have begun to collate and transcribe the Black Library's knowledge of Chaos to disseminate it among the Aeldari.[1]
The Guardians work beside the White Seers, and maintain a number of Wraith Constructs as well as Asuryani Rangers who are pledged to their service.[5]
