Harpax "Swarmer" Scouts were a class of cyber-drones of ancient origin used by the traitor Mechanicum during the Horus Heresy.[1b]
Description
They were usually used as front-line troop or vanguard swarms, ranging ahead of larger Stalker Cohorts.[1a]
In smaller groups, Harpax would harass the enemy's forward units to clear a path for their master's army. In larger numbers, they would overwhelm the opposition, capable of dismantling armoured convoys through sheer force of their numbers.[1b]
Barely larger than a human, they are armed with Exo-Planar Repeaters for anti-infantry or Lascutters for anti-armour roles, overwhelming their enemies through sheer weight of numbers.[1b]
Harpax were encountered by the Dark Angels on Galatia during the Thramas Crusade.[2]
