Harris (Guardsman)
Harris was a Private within the 117th Adrassi Regiment, who posthumously earned the prestigious Guardsman of the Week award.[1]
History
This occurred during the Charadon Campaign where Harris and the 117th Adrassi fought the forces of the Death Guard. In one such battle, Typhus the Traveler's led an devastating assault which led to the Regiment being ordered to retreat. Harris was among the first of the Adrassi to alight their troop transport and ensured the recovery of both the Regiment's surviving Guardsmen and material. Following a swift redeployment, 117th Adrassi were assigned to support the Knights of House Raven. During the subsequent battles, Harris bravely followed in the Knights footsteps and cooling ensured that probable kills became confirmed kills. It should be noted, though, that there were jealous mutterings that suggested this was not necessary, as the Knights' probables were already dead. The Regiment would later fight the so-called Disciples of Be'lakor and the flying Mutant creature which led them. In the battle that followed, hordes of Cultists charged the 117th Adrassi's position and killed their Commissar. This led Harris to lead a determined bayonet charge against the Disciples' mutant leader, which had flanked the Regiment's position. Though this attack failed and cost Harris his life, the sheer bravery he showed to the 117th Adrassi was truly inspirational. This led Harris' commanding officer to nominate him for the Guardsman of the Week award, which he later won.[1]
