Heptaligon
The Heptaligon is the capital city of the Trisolian System's Forge World. The Heptaligon is built into the moonlet orbiting the Trisolian A-2, a gas giant named Etrian.[1a]
The largest of the city-sized orbital mining platform in the system orbits Trisolian A4 and is named the Heptaligon. was the core of the multifacility orbital station.[1b]
Overview
Each of the four Trisolian planets had their own city-sized orbital mining platforms, but the Heptaligon was the largest of them. The Heptaligon was built into Etrian’s lonely moonlet, Momus, and comprised of seven stations anchored by tether-tubes driven through the icy heart of Momus. The interior of Momus had been hollowed out, and was also inhabited.[1f] The world is home to subterranean agrifields.[1a] These include Tria Station,[1b] Septa Station, Secunda Station,[1c] and station Prima.[1a]
Between the tube-tethers, long strings of macro-cabling tied the stations together in a complex web, suspending subsidiary platforms between the main, and allowing transit between all points on a bewildering number of routes. Although involved in resource acquisition itself, the Heptaligon’s main purpose was to act as the processing hub for all elements harvested from the system. In Momus’ frigid centre, various gaseous compounds were compressed into ingots of bizarre metals, then shipped up the tether-tubes to station Prima for out-system export.[1a]
As the Heptaligon was the nearest thing Trisolian could boast to a civilised world, it hosted the capital, its military command, organs of governance and so forth. This was no different to thousands of other similar outposts all over human space, and under normal circumstances Trisolian would have remained a backwater, had it not been for the major warp conduit that passed through the system on the way to the strategically vital nexus system of Beta-Garmon.[1a]
Stations
The Heptaligon has 7 stations. Those known are:
- Septa Station - Location of Central Command and Aspertia's chambers.[1d]
- Tria Station - Also called the Orb of Conveyance. Tria was the main port of the Heptaligon and entirely given over to docking facilities. Grav-plating made the interior of the orb an inverted world, where the ground curved overhead in an unbroken sphere.[1b]
- Secunda Station - Untethered during the Battle of Trisolian.[1c]
- Station Prima - Destination of out-system export.[1a]
