Historitor
From Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum
(Redirected from Historitors)
A Historitor is an occupation within the Imperium.[1][3]
Overview
The term Historitor has referred to different occupations within multiple different Imperial organisations. It has referred to those who worked for the Historical Revision Unit, an organization created at an unspecified date but existed by at least M41.[3][2] However, when Roboute Guilliman returned during the Era Indomitus, he established a new historical organisation called the Logos Historica Verita, with its members also named Historitors.[1]
Historitors have been part of the administrative staff of various Space Marine Chapters, such as the Ultramarines.[2]
Trivia
- Remembrancers were a similar occupation that have existed since the Great Crusade. The line between Historitor and Remembrancer is not clear, as it has been used to describe historians that were not part of the Remembrancer Order (and indeed, those who predate the Imperium in general).[4][5] Historitors feasibly may be a form of remembrancer, or be considered equivocal to, remembrancers in the Imperium.
- Historitor is likely a faux-Latin/Warhammer-ised version of the word Historian.
