Holdfast
The Holdfasts are fortresses inhabited by the Ironhead Squats on Necromunda.[1]
Description
These fortresses are crucial for the clans, serving as bases for prospecting, repairing land trains, and hoarding wealth. Their defenses span hundreds of kilometers, deterring threats like Ash Waste Nomads, who have long contested the clans' claims to the land. Much of the holdfasts are underground, linked by vast networks of tunnels beneath Necromunda's surface, connecting hives and settlements. Despite their grandeur, the holds are often sparsely populated, with most clan members out prospecting in massive vehicles across the wastes.[1]
Originally twelve, many were built around the hulks of bastion void ships, with new ones added as clans formed under the Great Charter.[1]
