House Khymere is a Traitor Knight House.
Overview
Originally a loyalist house that had fought for the Imperium for 10,000 years, but upon the creation of the Great Rift their world of Surtr's Wake was swallowed by Warp Rifts. When they reemerged, the Knights of House Khymere had been corrupted and twisted by the powers of Chaos and launched an attack on the Imperium Sanctus. Declared traitorous, when the Indomitus Crusade reached Surtur's Wake the Fallen Knight World was assailed by a force of Ultramarines and White Scars. However shockingly, the Nobles of the House did not display any of the outwards signs of mutation or corruption they had in their earlier attack. Bewildered, the Scions of Khymere did not themselves as traitor and could not fathom that they been deemed heretical. They simply withdrew from their world without resistance and fled into the Great Rift.[4]
What horrors the Scions of House Khymere experienced within the swirling Warp Rift is a mystery even to them, for few have any memory of that period. Most cite dreamlike pseudo-memories and mythological tales, and even their own Thrones Mechanicum are not sure what befall the Knights. Most now mutter in maddened riddles, communicate only through sudden blares of raw emotion, or recite endless obsessive litanies listing all the wrongs committed against their House.[4]
Today, the Scions of House Khymere see themselves as unforgivably wronged by the Imperium, and their wrath at those they see as oath-breakers drives them to march ever onwards. Their corrupted Knight suits have been given supernatural resilience, having displayed the ability to march into blistering fire without faltering and fighting even as their machines are grossly mauled. Their pilots have embraced this trait, and are known to march into firestorms, polluting acid rivers, and lethal rad-zones without fear. They feel nothing but righteousness in their retribution against those that betrayed them, and they strike from the Warp Storms of the Great Rift against their hated foes.[4]

- Uthren - Pilots the Knight Warglaive Scorched Fury. Frequently sent charging through raging firestorms and fields of acidic geysers to attack from the angle their enemies least expect, but surprisingly has endured each time.[2]
