Ilmaren is an Eldar Craftworld in the Mendak Sector that was nearly destroyed by the Ork hordes of Warboss Grak Bigtoof[1], the raids of Lelith Hesperax,[2] and the Freebooter Orks of the Badskab Bukkaneers.[3d]

History

Farseer Elthorn Caman and High Admiral Myrin Stormdawn had major disagreements about how to handle the Ork threat to the Craftworld which lead to a schism where nearly half of the Craftworld's fleet would leave with the Admiral, who would find a new path as a Corsair Baron of the Starsplinters.[3b]

Disaster struck Bigtoof's horde, however, when the Warboss' Weirdboy was killed by a Iyanden Ranger who had came to Ilmaren's aid. The Weirdboy's death caused the warp rift he had been creating to destroy the Craftworld to implode, which allowed Ilmaren to escape.[1]

Shortly after its devastation, the wounded Craftworld was raided by Dark Eldar forces led by Lelith Hesperax[2] in a surprise attack unseen by the Craftworld's leaders in their Farseer Council.[3b]

Shortly afterward Admiral Taenar Leotharan, would leave under the guise of frustration with the council[3b] but rather left at the secret direction of Farseer Caman to find and join forces with Myrin Stormdawn, former Admiral and now Baron of the Starsplinters.[3c] This plan would come to realization as Prince Stormdawn's forces would, in pursuit of the Badskab Bukkaneers, find themselves coming to the aid of the Craftworld against the Freebooter.[3d]
