The Ironblood Campaign took place in 822.M41 and began when Warpsmith Grathax and his Masters of Possession attacked the planet Ironblood with an army of Daemon Engines. Laying waste to everything in his path, Grathax's army was eventually met by several Cadian Astra Militarum tank Regiments and more than a hundred Ultramarine tanks under the command of Sergeant Chronus. The ensuing battle lasted for three days before the last Daemon engine was destroyed. The wreckage across the battlefield was so great that it could be seen from orbit.^[1][2b]

Sergeant Chronus had all participants of the campaign awarded with the Ironblood Campaign Badge.^[2b]
