Grey Knights

Justicar is the first rank above Battle brother in the Grey Knights Chapter and is equivalent to the rank of Sergeant in other Chapters.^[1]

Serving as the squad leaders of the Grey Knights, Justicars are Battle-Brothers with skill and experience that sets them apart from their peers.^[1]

The Purifiers' equivalent of Justicars are known as Knights of the Flame.^[16]

Superior Justicar Knights

Superior Justicar Knights assigned to Captain Indrick Boreale during the Kaurava Campaign.^[15]

Justicars who are veterans from countless battles under the Inquisition are referred to as Superior Justicar Knights. At least one squad was assigned to Captain Indrick Boreale during the failed Kaurava Campaign. It is unknown if the squad assigned to the Blood Ravens survived.^[15]

In The Inquisition (Background Book), it is said that only Justicar commanders are allowed to wear personal heraldry unlike the lower ranks.^[2] In Codex: Grey Knights (10th Edition) it is said that every Grey Knight has unique heraldry.^[21]
