Knight Defender
The Knight Defender is a class of a significantly durable Questoris Pattern Imperial Knight, that acts as a shielded mobile bunker.[1]
Description
Reluqiaries of ancient technology, Knight Defenders contain Luminox-class energy relays, binharic transfigurators, and armaglass-weave matrices. These and other arcane components enable the Knight to be mounted with rare systems that require enormous energy requirements and precise calibration by datachoristries to function.[2] These include a Void Shield Generator, which emits a flickering dome that can envelop nearby allies as well. This provides even greater protection than Ion Shields and those that pilot Knight Defenders will selflessly use themselves to block enemy fire. For weaponry, they mount a Plasma Executor and a lethal Conversion Beam Obliterator, which allows these Knight suits to destroy all but the strongest war machines.[1] These technologies are only partially understood, and maintaining them is difficult.[2]
The nobles who pilot these Knights have a duty to safeguard these ancient technological relics on and off the battlefield, and maintain close ties with their house's Sacristans. Due to the complexity of technology, those Houses sworn to the Adeptus Mechanicus tend to field them more. Besides supporting their allies with their arcane technologies, pilots of Knight Defenders will often act as targeted assassins who expunge past dishonour's against the house.[2]
