Kor'tal is a T'au Empire Sept World located within the Nem'yar Atoll.^[1a]

Kor'tal orbits a black hole. Due to this, only thermo-inductive shields and artificial satellite flares render this harsh world of permanent darkness liveable. Despite this though, it is one of the most vital Fifth Sphere of Expansion Sept Worlds, as dozens of AI-automated droneports harvest pure dark matter from the black hole's event horizon. This priceless resource has most notably been used to power the nova reactors of XV104 Riptide battlesuits, but it has many other potential military and industrial applications.^[1a]
