Lancae
Lancae is the patron Imperial Saint of the Recidious System.[1]
History
However, Lancae has now fallen into obscurity and little is truly known about the Saint's history. It is thought, though, that Lancae is tied to an ancient battle in the Imperium's early years, which took place on the Recidious Moon Demerium. Local legend state that Lancae was martyred in the climax of this battle, and was then buried within a mausoleum on Demerium. At one point, it was the largest and most impressive of the Moon's mausoleums and held significance to the Adeptus Ministorum. This led Lancae's mausoleum to at one point be watched over by a contingent of Priests and Missionaries, as well as it becoming the site of pilgrimage. The Saint's mausoleum also holds inscriptions, which claim that a number of Salamander Space Marines were also buried with Lancae. The reason for this is not known, but some speculate that the Salamanders were present in the battle that claimed the Saint's life. However because of Lancae's current obscurity, it is not known if this is true, as there is no accurate record of the battle. It is also not clear if the Salamanders' remains are still in the Saint's mausoleum or if they have been reclaimed by their Chapter.[1]
