Lelithar Planetary Defence Force
The Lelithar Planetary Defence Force is the planetary defence force of the planet Lelithar.[1b]
Organisation
The Lelithar PDF consists of several thousand regiments, divided into 65 army groups.[1a]
At the start of the 13th Black Crusade it had 1,242 light regiments, 245 mechanised regiments, 91 armoured regiments and 52 artillery regiments. Furthermore, it fielded 3 regiments of the Governor's Own Mounted Guard, 17 regiments of Wilderness Patrol, 951 regiments of Volunteer Reserves, 1,874 regiments of Citizen's Militia and 27 regiments of Off-World Settler's Volunteers.[1b]
History
After a powerful figure known as the Voice of the Emperor emerged, 40 percent of the PDF forces changed their allegiance and deserted, dispersing to Yayor, Amistel, Albitern and Bar-El.[1a] The Legio Ignatum, the Death Spectres and the Jouran Dragoons were deployed to siege the planetary capital to rectify the situation, causing a large portion of the PDF to rebel by killing the Imperial governor.[1c]
These events reduced the effective strength of the loyal PDF forces down to 954 light regiments, 124 mechanised regiments, 52 armoured regiments and 45 artillery regiments with 3 companies of Governor's Own Mounted Guard, 2 regiments of Wilderness Patrol, 53 regiments of Volunteer Reserves, 474 regiments of Citizen's Militia and 27 regiments of Off-World Settler's Volunteers in reserve.[1c]
