Lethe is an Imperial Industrial World of the Coronid Deeps region of space.[1a]

History

By the time of its discovery by the Imperial Rogue Trader Vaspperly Elgin in the Great Crusade, the world was dominated by a decayed pre-industrial civilization that had arisen during the Age of Strife. The mist-shrouded and river-filled world was used as an early staging point in the Great Crusade.[1a] It would provide the Imperium with Solar Auxilia Regiments called the Ash Scorpions, named after the world's deadly Ash Scorpions.[4]

By the Horus Heresy, Lethe was undeveloped and lightly populated but still home to several famous light infantry cohorts of the Imperial Army.[1a] In the civil war, it became one of the battle sites of the Manachean War. The loyalist Death Eagles Blackshields clashed with the Emperor's Children on the planet.[1b]

Lethe was occupied by Chaos forces during the 12th Black Crusade, but eventually liberated by the White Consuls under Captain Palatine.[3]

At some point in late M41, Lethe became home to the Flame Falcons Space Marine Chapter before they went renegade.[2]
