The Light's Herald, the Dawn King, is the tentacled-faced Patriarch^[1b] of the Quarry Rats Genestealer Cult.^[1a]

As the main conduit for the Cult's Broodmind, the Light's Herald's spines and tentacles glow with psychic energy. The Patriarch also causes this same vivid blue colour to glow around the Quarry Rats' forehead ridges.^[1c]

• The Light's Herald^[1b] and the Quarry Rats were created by the Games Workshop employee James. They appeared in White Dwarf 507.^[1a]
