General Lokris was a senior officer of the Imperial Guard.
Biography
Lokris was more than a hundred years old in or around 928.M41, when Commissar Ciaphas Cain was promoted away from the Valhallan 12th Field Artillery to the Imperial force's brigade headquarters. A firm believer in Cain's heroic reputation, he often assigned Cain to the most dangerous missions[1].
Despite this, Cain developed a liking for Lokris, finding him a refreshingly direct and honest man, who shared Cain's low tolerance for bureacracy and office politicking. Cain also appreciated the talents of Lokris' personal chef and the quality of his private store of amasec, both of which Cain was able to enjoy thanks to his favored position (between episodes of "bowel-clenching terror.")[2a]
In spite of his advanced age, Lokris was always eager for action, which led him to volunteer to command the campaign on Archipelaga against heretic insurgents[2a]. During this deployment, he assigned Cain to what looked like a routine search mission, which led to uncovering a Nurglite cult on the planet[2b].
