Year	Event
	The Dark Age of Technology begins. Humanity begins to colonise the nearby star systems using conventional sub-light spacecraft. The new colonies must rely on local resources, and be completely self-sufficient in all vital areas in order to survive. Ten generations are needed to travel between the more distant of the new colonies and Terra. This state of affairs continues until M18.[1]
ca. M15[2]	The kinebrach empire flourishes at this time.[2]
ca. M15[3]	The Emperor arrives on Molech and finds a portal into the Warp. He makes contact with the Chaos Gods and makes a deal for knowledge of warpcraft that will enable him to create the Primarchs. He leaves Alivia Sureka behind to guard the portal until he returns at a later date.[3]
ca. M15-M20[4]	The Eldar Empire is at its height. The lesser races provide a negligible threat to its dominance of the galaxy.[4] Those who would become the first Haemonculi take a notable degree of power in the empire.[5]
