Malix Hest
Malix Hest was a member of the Blood Angels Legion, during the Horus Heresy and took part in the Siege of Terra.[1b]
History
He was among the Imperials who made it into the Inner Palace's doors, before they were sealed near the end of the invasion. However the Warp later began to infuse Terra and this allowed Warmaster Horus' forces to infiltrate past the Inner Palace's defenses.[1a] By then, Hest was aiding in defending the War Court's new base in the Tower of Hegemon.[1b] This changed, though, when the Primarch Vulkan ordered that Basilio Fo be located, as the genius prisoner had been charged with building a weapon to kill the Warmaster. The Chosen of Malcador Khalid Hassan declared that he would do so and a small number of Imperials were sent to both aid and protect him in his mission. By order of the War Court,[1a] Hest and his fellow Legionaries Guil Conort and Ibelin Kumo, were among them. They would bravely defend Hassan, but due to being outnumbered by the Warmaster's forces swarming the Inner Palace, the group had to always retreat when encountering any enemies. Which even meant leaving their fellow Imperials to die if need be. As time wore on, Hassan could tell that this constant retreating had begun to cause resentment to build up within the Legionaries.[1b]
Malix Hest was beset by the first manifestation of the Black Rage as Sanguinius was slain and in that rage he killed fellow Legionaire Guil Conort by ripping his head off. Malix was then himself killed by the Custodes Ios Raja in order to protect Hassan from the Blood Angel's rage. [2]
