Mesmoch was a world of the Imperium within the Nephilim Sector.[1a]
What minor Imperial civilization existed on the world was swiftly annihilated by the Necrons at the start of the construction of the Pariah Nexus. Mesmoch proved to be a keystone of the Nexus, its massive single Pylon regulating many others nearby.[1a]
During the Pariah Crusade Indomitus Crusade Fleet Primus under the command of Roboute Guilliman attacked Mesmoch with the force of three Battlegroups and hundreds of capital ships as part of a plan by Belisarius Cawl to disrupt the Pariah Nexus. However, this was simply a ruse to divert the Necrons away from the true target: Planet 7/2.[1b] After an intense ground battle[2] Mesmoch was obliterated from orbit by the Imperial fleet.[1c] However, this was not the end, as Fleet Primus soon came under assault from an even larger Necron fleet under the command of the Silent King himself, intent on capturing Guilliman.[1d]
