History
In late M41, the Craftworld was asked by the Ulthwé Farseer Eldrad Ulthran to help defend the Imperium's Charydis Sector. It lay nearby Miel Carn and had been invaded by an allied force of Chaos, Orks and Drukhari. But despite this, Ulthran thought the Sector's defense was vital for the Aeldari to take part in. However he chose to ask Miel Carn and not Ulthwé to aid in the Imperium's efforts to do so. The Craftworld agreed, for their own reasons and sent their forces[1a] to fight beside Ulthran, including Miel Carn's Avatar of Khaine. The Craftworld Saim-Hann also took part in defending the Charydis Sector and fought beside the Imperium and Miel Carn's forces.[1b]
One of the battles fought in the invasion, was on an Imperial world that contained an inactive Warlord Titan. This Titan was coveted by Abaddon the Despoiler, who personally commanded the Black Legion's forces in the alliance that was invading the Charydis Sector. He was joined in the attack by his Xenos allies, which included the Drukhari Archon[1a] known as the Shadowlord. As the battle waged on, the Archon personally led his forces against Miel Carn. The Drukhari inflicted heavy casualties against the Craftworld, but their will broke when Miel Carn's mighty Wraithlord was slain. This caused most of the Craftworld's forces to flee and they likely would have been routed, if Miel Carn's Avatar of Khaine and Fire Dragons had not barred the Shadowlord's path. Even so, the Archon was able to deal several wounds to the Avatar. As the battle wore on, the Black Legion eventually managed to secure the Warlord Titan. Its loss, led the surviving Imperial and Craftworld forces to retreat from the world.[2]
