Navis Mortis
The Navis Mortis, also known as Helmawr’s Graveyard, is a space-ships graveyard, north of Gothrul's Needle, on Necromunda.[1]
Overview
Following the Two-faced War, this vast expanse is littered with the wreckage of void ships that met their demise attempting to circumvent the Eye of Selene,[1] in what was called the Time of Raining Iron.[2a]
Despite declaring this region off-limits, looters and smugglers frequently sought its treasures. Over time, an ash waste society emerged among the wrecks, comprising Ash Waste Nomads, muties, and outlaws. These groups formed tribes and settlements named after the ships they inhabited.[2a]
Gang Activity
Clan House gangs and Guilders also explored the Navis Mortis, seeking lost treasures.[2a]
The Guild of Coin maintains trade settlements at its edges, ensuring Lord Helmawr received his share.[2a]
Powerful warlords ruled the Graveyard, with the largest gang being the Noctus-Riders, led by the formidable Mhungan. They frequently clashed with rivals like the Occluidites and Ash Terras, leading to intense ship-to-ship battles across the desert wastes.[2a]
House Delaque has established a covert settlement near the graveyard and their operatives are occasionally spotted among the makeshift towns sheltered by the crashed ships. Speculations abound regarding their motives: some believe they seek lost cargo on these vessels, while others suggest their interest lies with the mysterious Brainleaf plant residing beneath the graveyard, which some believe the House of Shadow shares a psychic connection with.[1]
The Grave Wyrm
In recent years, the tribes, gangs, and settlements of the Navis Mortis have united against a common enemy: the Grave Wyrm. This vast underground brainleaf plant extends its tendrils for hundreds of kilometers, infiltrating numerous wrecks.[2b]
