Nemesis Tessera is an Imperium world located near the Eye of Terror.[1]

A secret Inquisition fortress is located on Nemesis Tessera, built in the style of a dungeon. Its structures are buried deep beneath the planet's surface, which is nothing but a wasteland.[1]

During the 2nd Black Crusade, Black Legion forces assaulted the Fortress on Nemesis Tessera which freed several Daemons kept captive there.[2]

The fortress came under attack again, during the 13th Black Crusade and was nearly destroyed. This was after the Inquisitor Van Hel, who served on Nemesis Tessera, fell to Heresy and opened up a Warp Rift in the bowls of the fortress. After he did his Chaos masters' bidding, a large force of Chaos Space Marines appeared and attacked Nemesis Tessera as well. Thus it was revealed that the forces of Chaos were behind Van Hel's actions and their target was the Inquisition's fortress. Thankfully, the world was saved from being destroyed by Inquisitor Cyarro. His heroic actions not only closed the dangerous Warp Rift before a disaster could happen, but Cyarro also put an end to Van Hel's treachery. The besieged fortress was then defended by its stationed Inquisitors and Chamber Militant forces for an entire month, until they were aided by the Space Wolves. The Chapter's appearance prevented a breech from occurring and by working together, the two sides drove off the Chaos Space Marines from Nemesis Tessera. Afterwards, the Inquisition launched an investigation to discover how Van Hel was corrupted. They also sought to discover, if any of the fortress' other Inquisitors had been working with him.[8]
