Ohthere Wyrdmake was a Rune Priest of the Space Wolves' 5th Great Company, during the Great Crusade and the early stages of the Horus Heresy.[1a]
Biography
Accompanying Wolf Lord Amlodhi Skarssen Skarssensson on a mission to demand the Thousand Sons assist the VI in the Ark Reach Cluster, he first met Ahzek Ahriman when he saved the Chief Librarian from Warp predators on Aghoru.[1b] They struck up a friendship[1c] and fought side by side[1d] against the corruption that had lain dormant under the planet's artificial Mountain[1e], complementing each other's battle style[1f].
On the way to the Ark Reach Cluster, the two learnt from each other's different perspectives and practices of psykana[1g], but during the last battle of the Compliance Wyrdmake bore witness to one of the Thousand Sons succumbing to the flesh change[1h]. This event, and the knowledge the Rune Priest had gathered from Ahriman, led him to speak against the XV at the Council of Nikaea, denouncing Magnus and his gene-sons as sorcerers.[1i]
Wyrdmake was present at the Burning of Prospero, overseeing the destruction of the Great Library of Tizca and extracting Ahriman's location from a dying Ankhu Anen.[1j] He was forced into a psychic duel by the Chief Librarian, who broke his spirit by showing him the Age of Darkness born of the battle, and had his soul obliterated by voracious warp predators.[1k]
