Paradyce V is a war ravaged[3] Industrial World,[1] which was once part of the Imperium.[3]

History

Millions of years before that though, it was a Tomb World named Alkhanet, which laid at the fringes of the Necrons' Infinite Empire. After the Xenos entered their Great Sleep, the world would eventually be claimed by the Imperium who ruled Paradyce V and the Paradyce System for thousands of years. However this changed when the War in the Pariah Nexus began in M42 and the Necron forces of the Silent King Szarekh invaded the System. Its worlds then became a vital part of Szarekh's Pylon network, which was designed to quell the Warp. Though the Imperium came to the Paradyce System's defense, a deadlock would develop with the Necrons' invading forces. This would suddenly change sometime later, when the Space Hulk Wurldburna appeared out of the Warp and crashed into Paradyce V.[1]

It deposited millions of Orks and other inhabitants onto the world's surface, which began fighting not only themselves, but also the forces of the Imperium and Necrons. This brought an upheaval to the Paradyce System, as more of the Silent King Szarekh's forces were deployed to Paradyce V to deal with the Orks. The Imperium would take advantage of this and launch renewed attacks throughout the System, which included Paradyce V. Other factions and species would also invade the world[1] and it was because of these non-Necron forces that the Imperium's Paradyce Reclamation Force was defeated. This led the Imperium to abandon Paradyce V and leave it for the numerous invaders to fight over. While the Necrons continue to do so, they no longer consider the ravaged world to be fit enough to rejoin their Infinite Empire.[1]
