Pasqal Haneumann
"I am a Magos Explorator. A reconnoitrer of knowledge, a beam of lumen in the darkness of the unknown. I know not how to fear you. I only know how to explore and kill."[2]
Pasqal Haneumann is an Adeptus Mechanicus Magos Explorator, who currently serves within a Rogue Trader's retinue.[1]
History
Before doing so, Haneumann spent many decades performing his duty to the Omnissiah, by marching toward worlds yet unknown and Systems yet unconquered. As a result, the Magos Explorator's memory unit became a treasury of priceless knowledge, that is unavailable to even the highest-born Imperial aristocrats. Haneumann is also struck with a relentless craving for knowledge, though, which he has tempered with discipline and loyalty to the precepts of his faith. This later caused a difficult situation for the Magos Explorator, when he was confronted by dissent among his peers, during an enterprise they were undertaking. When the dissent could have caused a schism that would shake the Imperium to its foundations, Haneumann ultimately stepped away from the enterprise in order to study the dilemma he faced. This lasted for years, until he received a cryptic message from his former mentor. Its contents made Haneumann abandon his duties as an Explorator and join a Rogue Trader's retinue. He hopes that the protection of such a powerful figure will help him find his venerable teacher and decide just how firm the boundaries of dogma are for a seeker of truth. Some revelations are painful, but Haneumann is prepared to endure anything for his thirst for knowledge. For such is the will of the Omnissiah.[1]
