Omnissiah
The Omnissiah is a central religious figure within the Cult Mechanicus.[1]
Overview
According to the faith of the Adeptus Mechanicus, the Omnissiah is the physical manifestation of the Machine God and part of the trinity which includes the Machine God and Motive Force. Members of the Mechanicum frequently invoke the blessing of the Omnissiah and plead for His aid while undertaking technological activities.[1][2]
The Adeptus Mechanicus dictates that the Emperor of Mankind is the Omnissiah, linking the Cult Mechanicus with the Imperial Cult.[1][2] The Emperor first appeared to the Mechanicum on Mars in the early Great Crusade, displaying apparent technological miracles such as repairing a Knight with a touch. Ultimately it succeeded to convince the Tech-Priests to believe in his divinity.[3] The moment of the Emperor's arrival has been deeply ingrained into the Cult's contemporary dogma.[6]
During the Emperor's visit to Mars, not all members of the Mechanicum believed that he was the Omnissiah[3b][5] and a small schism lead by a number of senior Tech-Priests broke out. Those who didn't accept the Emperor as the Omnissiah gained little support, and the Treaty of Olympus was signed while the fires of combat still burned in manufactorums across the planet. This treaty bound the two empires together as allies.[5] Most infamously, Fabricator-General Kelbor-Hal during the Great Crusade was skeptical of the Imperium's ruler and saw the Emperor as a false prophet.[3a] This doubt ultimately helped contribute to the Schism of Mars during the Horus Heresy and the formation of the Dark Mechanicum.[3b]
One of the surviving Men of Iron, UR-025, states that it has met the true Omnissiah, not the false one worshipped by man, and that it would find the Mechanicum disappointing.[4]
