Isstvan, also called Father Isstvan, was the chief deity of the pre-Imperial human civilisation inhabiting the Isstvan system in M30, notably Isstvan III, having survived through the Age of Strife.[1a] Father Isstvan is depicted as a massive bearded sky-god.[1b] Prophecies of war, treachery, revelation and death suffused their mythos.[1a]
Mythology
According to the Isstvanian mythological histories, Father Isstvan sang the world into being. The music being heard by his blessed Warsingers. Isstvan had many children to inhabit the early ages of this new world. There are many subsequent legends of Isstvan's creation, day and night, ocean and mountain, and all other aspects of creation breathed into life.[1a]
The Lost Children are those who forsook their father and were subsequently banished to the wastelands of the Isstvan system's fifth planet. Cast out from paradise, they became mutated abominations and built dark towers from which they brooded on treacherous and hateful schemes. These Lost Children were prophesied to return and bring war and death upon Isstvan's magnificent city of the gods, Choral City on Isstvan III.[1a]
