Pavonis Mons

Pavonis Mons, is a large mountain on Mars. It sits in the middle of the Tharsis Montes mountain chain.[1b]
During the Horus Heresy, the Legio Mortis made its fortress within its ashen depths.[1b] From there, they attempted to exercise influence over the Tharsis region as a whole in competition with Legio Tempestus.[1a]
In M32, Pavonis Mons was the scene of an intense stand-off between the Fists Exemplar, led by their Chapter Master Maximus Thane and Master of the Forge Aloysian, and the Adeptus Mechanicus. The Fists Exemplar were under orders to retrieve Eldon Urquidex from Magos Argus Van Auken's custody.[2]
